In our family, Thanksgiving always occurs a couple of weeks early--in fact, the turkey dinner will happen today. Sometime around 5 or 6 pm, we'll be sitting down to turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Thanks to the marvels of technology, I'm putting this blog together nearly a week in advance, except for the cover--which I won't get until just a couple of days before.
Enough about us. I think you might like this story. I certainly enjoyed writing it. Do you remember the Smith family from Mended by Mother's Day? (Volume 1 of the Summer in Sweetland Series.) Shellie and Dr. Zack are now married, Shellie's brother Will and her best friend Carlie star in this one.
Will is still a little too impulsive for his own good. He picks a fight with Carlie's boyfriend because he makes Carlie cry. But then when the guy is killed as a result of a traffic accident afterwards, Will is arrested, suspected of running him off the road.
When Thanksgiving arrives, Will is in jail and the bail is higher than the moon. Arlene Smith, his mother, decrees they will wait to have Thanksgiving until Will is free again. So...they're wondering...just how many years will that be?
You can purchase this story--one of my favorites, by the way--from Amazon for only 99 cents.
