“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19, NKJV.
This is a new day, and we can start over as fresh as a baby, sinless, sweet, and blessed. No matter the goof-ups of yesterday, all we have to do is repent and begin new.
Not that the repercussions will go away--sin nearly always has repercussions--but God promises to make all things new for our hearts. We have only to ask, and then move forward from here, this time following God's path.
Sometimes God's path is hard to know, but if you ask in faith (and remember, faith is action, not feeling), He'll show you.
We all need to be able to start out new again. Even at my age, there are things that snag me, painful thorns that poke, easy ways that aren't His ways.
One of my favorite verses is in Micah 7:8: Rejoice not against me, o my enemy, for when I fall, I shall arise.
God knows we will fall over and over again, but He always is willing to lift us back to our feet.
Lord, You are perfect, and we are not. Thank You for standing by us when we slip down yet again, and thank You for helping us up and moving us forward yet again. In Jesus's name, Amen!
