Book Review - THE WARBLE by Victoria Simcox
This is a mid-grade fantasy, and it's a marvelous story. There are several errors and typos, but I think the kids will still enjoy the story. I know I did. However, due to the errors only, I would only give it four stars. This is Book 1 of the Bernoven Chronicals.
Kristina Kingsly isn't the most popular girl in school. In fact, some of her schoolmates tease her unmercifully. Life changes, though, when her teacher gives her a hatbox on the last day of school before the winter break.
A pretty bauble in the hatbox goes bouncing down the laundry chute, and when she tries to retrieve it, she finds herself in a land called Bernoven, filled with dwarfs, fairies, gnomes, talking animals, monsters, and (of course!) an evil queen and her evil son. It's up to Kristina to get that little bauble to its final resting place, or else.
There are pitfalls, danger lurking all over the place, and adventure. And where would any fantasy be without a handsome young prince? You can get paperback or ebook at Amazon.
I received a free copy of this book from the author; however, the opinions expressed are my own.
