Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 11-12, NKJV.
This time of year here in Northern California, a lot of things are blooming. Sometimes they seem to me like a shout of praise to their Maker, but usually it's the quiet statement of a loving gift. A whisper of beauty and joy.
God seldom shouts when He wants to tell us something. It's usually that whisper in our hearts with a quiet message.
"Forgive her."
"Love him."
"Tell them about Me."
"Hug her."
"Give."
"Hope."
Have you heard Him? If not, have you been listening? Ask, and you will receive His words.
Lord, give me a listening heart. I want to hear all You say. Thank You. For the love of Jesus, Amen.
