Book Review - JOLINE'S REDEMPTION by Vickie McDonough

I read the prequel to this a while back, and I've been waiting with bated breath for Joline's Redemption. Where the book left off, Joline's insolent attitude drove her family to distraction and then distress. Jo had run off with her new husband, Mark, leaving a new house and a thriving business, nobody knew where or why.

This book enlightens us--and distresses us even more. Turns out Jo hadn't run off with her new husband. He had thrown her out of their house, pregnant and badly beaten, and then had taken off for parts unknown. Worse--the man who "rescued" her took her into something far worse--his brothel. And every time she had tried to escape, he would beat her.

She had to try one last time. The brothel owner had lined up a couple to take her baby, her son Jamie, now a year old. He was the only good thing in her life. So she ran away, taking not only Jamie but also a half-breed young Indian girl who also lived at the brothel, Sarah. If Badger (the owner of the brothel) ever finds them, Jo will likely be beaten to death, maybe Sarah too.

Where can they go to be safe? The only place Jo can think of is her sister's home in Guthrie. Lara has no reason to take her in, given the way Jo treated her, but it's the only place the young mother can think of.

And then she runs into a man in Guthrie who's nearly a dead ringer for Mark. His brother, Baron. Oh, is Jo ever in trouble now.

Folks, you just have to get this book! Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Christian Book Distributors.

I received a copy of this book free in return for an honest review.
