Monday Morning Devo--One Lost Coin

Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn't she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin." In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:8-10 ASB

One of my FaceBook friends, Dr. Jeannie Killian, put a post on her wall yesterday that said,"Heaven is in the stands, jumping to their feet, cheering out your name. And, God is close beside whispering, 'You can do this.'" How appropriate for the winter Olympics season! I could just picture it: A heavenly stadium, a crowd of angels packing the stands, and Jesus as the coach telling you you can do it! Best yet--the other teams (devils and demons) don't have a prayer.

Why does Jesus care so much about the lost ones? Why did He care so much about me that He whispered in my heart, "Your life is a mess?" I knew it. I had to agree.

When He whispers, you can hear it as well as a shout. And the joy when you are found is beyond the joy any gold metal winner ever. Why do we fight against Him when He holds the keys to success?

Why not follow? Let the cheering begin!

Prayer: Lord, open our ears that we might hear that soft whisper. Open our hearts to understanding. Open our lives to the wonder of You. In Jesus's Precious Name, Amen.

This seems like your very best devotional. I suppose because it fits me, a sinner.
