Book Review – The Rogue Trust – Deanne Durrett

I may be prejudiced (Deanne is a friend), but this book is good. It’s fast-paced in places, slows to a peaceful pace on occasion to lull you into that false sense of security, then hits you with another punch when you’re not watching.

Did you ever wonder what would happen if you won the lottery or inherited a gigamillion bucks from a rich uncle?

Becca Magee is a young widow, teaching during the day and trying to bring up Amy K., a precocious pre-teen, during her off hours. She gets by on her salary, but there’s not a lot of room for extras.

When she gets fourteen yellow roses one afternoon, Becca’s sure a mistake has been made. The flower shop must mixed up their orders somehow.

And she thinks she’s gone a little over the edge when she finds herself attracted to a man who seems to be stalking her daughter, acts like a jerk at Amy K.’s softball game, and then tries to convince her he’s a lawyer offering an inheritance beyond her wildest dreams. Never mind that he’s also hunky.

Then someone breaks into their house while a threatening tornado traps them in their shelter. Becca’s scrapbook and their precious furry friend Miss Honey come up missing. Add to that the local newspaper article saying she won said gigamillion dollars, packed with information that only could have come from the lawyer’s office.

To find out the answer to this mystery, you must purchase Deanne Durrett’s e-book, The Rogue Trust, from Amazon. You won’t be sorry. Promise.

Anne, Thank you so much for reviewing THE ROGUE TRUST. After writing nonfiction for kids for many years, I enjoyed my work on this book. All the nonfiction was contracted before I wrote the books, so I had to stick to my outline and write for the editor. But, with this book, I felt the freedom of flight and I wrote it for my readers. I'm not having any luck with the reply buttons above, so I'll just start a new thread.
