Saturday Sermonette - Getting Rid of the Bugs
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24, NKJV.
Psalm 139 is definitely one of my favorites. It's the psalm that tells us God knows us inside and out. He knows what we're thinking, what we plan to do before we step a foot in that direction, sees our entire succession of yesterdays laid out like a diagrammed sentence--and He loves us anyway.
There are bugs in my life I don't like, and I'm pretty sure God's not fond of them either. I kick them out on a regular basis, but some of them find their ways back in through the cracks in my armor. I'd almost bet some of you also have a few bugs that creep back in, too.
Long story shortened by several thousand pages: I need help getting the bugs out for good. We can't without God's help, so--c'mon, God--we could use a little help here! Clean us out one more time, please. No more bugs allowed!
