Book Review - LETTING GO by June Foster

June Foster is famous for wreaking Happily-Ever-Afters out of impossible and/or tragic situations, and this is right along those lines. I think this might be my favorite of all her books that I've read so far.

A young pastor (Zack Lawrence) of a failing congregation loses his wife and unborn son when a blood clot takes Sandra's life. The bank takes over the church and parsonage. Zack moves in with his nagging mother and sympathetic father, taking a job at a hardware store in this town where he'd grown up. His faith lies in shattered, worthless pieces, just like his heart. Not that he'd been so much in love with Sandra. No, he'd married her out of guilt and because he'd gotten her pregnant, a serious sin, but forgiven by the church leadership. And he failed her, just like he failed the church and God.

Ella Russell is a young woman who has, for as long as she can remember, been in love with Zack. And now that he's free, he's buried in grief and guilt--he doesn't even see her. He sees Stephanie, though, the somewhat pushy pharmacist. She offers herself to Zack in no uncertain terms. Actually, he sees her for exactly what she is, and he isn't interested, but she's not convinced.

If you love a good romance, you might consider hurrying on over to Amazon and grabbing a copy.
