Book Review--YANKEE DOODLE CHRISTMAS by Sheila Seiler LaGrand
This is the eighth short story in Kathi Macias' 12 Days of Christmas, and a very enjoyable one!
Margot is the new pastor's wife, an d she is expected to dress the house for the annual Christmas Parade of Homes. Unfortunately her mother-in-law, suffering from dementia, has decided it's Independence Day and insists on decorating the front porch in red, white, and blue bunting and planting chairs on the sidewalk to watch the parade.
Margot is upset. What will the church matriarch think? Margot dissolves in tears, sure that the whole town will throw them out on their ears. Paul tells her she's trying to put Christmas decorations before God and making them more important than honoring his mother.
Is there no way to please the church matriarch, her husband, and her Lord at the same time?
Yankee Doodle Christmas is available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble for 99 cents, a great last last-minute ebook gift.
