Book Review--A RANGER NAMED ROWDY, A TEXAS RANGER TIM BANNON STORY by James J Griffon

If you are a westerns kind of person, this series might be just the ticket for you. There are ten volumes so far in this series, but I'm only reviewing two of them here.

The first one I'd like to tell you a little about is Volume Nine, Defenders of the Mission. Ranger Tim Bannon and his trusty horse, Rowdy, have been following a bad guy named Chuck Morrell all across Texas, north to south and east to west. He nearly catches up with the outlaw when he comes down with an influenza.

He manages to make it to the Mission of Santa Clara, but he's laid low by the bug. He's afraid he's lost Morrell for sure, but there's not much he can do about it until he has a bit more strength than the average new-born kitten. He's just getting back on his feet when outlaws attack the mission, hot on the heels of.... (Nope, not gonna tell ya.)

The second is Volume Ten, Like Father, Like Son. Ranger Tim is relaxing on his ranch with his wife and six-year-old son, between assignments, when a neighbor interrupts a fishing expedition with the boy. Seems some rustlers are pushing some cattle into a box canyon. Tim's son Billy wants to tag along, but his father sends him home to tell his mother so she won't worry. Trouble is, he doesn't stay at home.

These two and the other eight volumes can be purchased from Amazon and Barnes and Noble for only 99 cents apiece.

Thanks, Ann for the nice reviews. And I'd like to mention once again how much I enjoyed your short story ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS EVE.
