Book Review - BATHSHEBA by Jill Eileen Smith
I love Biblical historical fiction, and this one did not disappoint. Jill Eileen Smith has woven together this beautiful love story with all its tragic consequences. Bathsheba is an "old" book (published two whole years ago), but it's story of forgiveness is timeless. This could wind up being a classic.
Bathsheba--the woman who committed adultery with King David--condemned and scorned by her family, David's wives, and David's subjects. Why would a woman risk her reputation and her very life on a fling, a one-night stand, even if the man were a king?
Why would the king risk his own life and his kingdom, not to mention his relationship with the Lord, for one night with a woman, no matter how beautiful?
Jill Eileen Smith has told the fictional story from her perspective, but she remained true to scripture in the telling of it. You may purchase the book from Christian Book Distributors, Amazon, or Barnes and Nobel. Click on the name of your favorite store for a link to Bathsheba from The Wives of King David series.
