Romans 12:15 - "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep."
Sometimes I wonder, how can God laugh with one person while He weeps with someone else who is sorrowing? It's a truth too deep for me.
And yet, on the same day not too long ago, I cried with one friend who lost her husband and later rejoiced with another friend whose first book was published.
It requires a personal connect, both between God and the person and between two people. It requires that we be open to listen. Sometimes folks need to talk about their memories of a special someone gone from them now. And sometimes the same ones can't wait to share some good news with a good friend.
Someone will come to you today needing a listening heart. Will you listen?
Lord Jesus, help us improve our hearing. Help us know when You need us to listen to You, and help us to know when we need to listen to someone else. Help us put aside our own fears, hurts, and joys in order that we might be 100% in tune with that person You send us today. For Your sake and honor, and we give You all the praise, dearest Lord.
