Monday Morning Devo - Trudging On

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:7-9, NKJV

The past three years were difficult. Becoming and being a widow is not for sissies. There are days when it's all that I can do to put one foot in front of the other--but that's exactly what is required. When Jack's health began going downhill, God reminded me day after day that He was my source of strength--my backbone. There are days when going forward is not easy, but it's doable. Without Jesus, it would not be doable. He's the One who helps me over the hard spots.

Going backward in time isn't possible, no matter what Star Trek and other sci-fi and fantasy stories tell you. God never intended for us to relive, only to live until He comes to take us home to heaven.

One step, one day, one life at a time. Trudge on until your steps become lighter and more joyful. With Him as the One who gives us strength to stand, we can do it. We can get there.

Lord, thank You for that hope. Amen.
