Monday Morning Devo - Blossoming Candles
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people. Exodus 13:21-22
I haven't often seen a pillar of fire, although we did use to have big bonfires at the pep rally before the homecoming game in high school. And after the New Year, sometimes a bonfire made of Christmas trees. But I have felt the little candle planted in my heart with the small, warm flame. God planted it there.
It's beginning to grow, and one day that little candle will come to full blossom and be a flaming pillar, light for not only me but the folks around me. That light is the Lord's, and the darkness can't overcome it.
That's His promise. I believe it.
Amazing Lord, we thank You. You are the best, the strongest, and most loving! Your grace is eternal, and Your flame will never go out. Amen.
