Book Review - LAVENDER RAIN by Rita Garcia
Another wonderful, pathos-filled, and heart-warming book from a classic and talented author!
Maggie Delatorre has everything together, or so it seems in the first two books of this wonderful Serenity Cove series. She's the calm, cool, and collected confidant and friend. She has the lovely antique shop on main street. Everybody listens when she talks. When she begins dating her pastor, people are nodding and smiling, sure that everything is riding just right for her.
A couple of bombs drop, though. Or really--three bombs. First, the pastor asks her "that question"--but she doesn't like him "that way." An old flame shows up--one who disappeared from her life just when things were getting to that same point. How could she ever trust Nick Callahan again?
The third bomb drops and Maggie's world falls into a million tiny shards. The mammography indicates lumps, and a biopsy confirms her worst fears.
The former boyfriend, the pastor, offers support; the old/new boyfriend offers himself. Will Nick stay when the chemo takes her hair, her humor, and her last ounce of energy? And will her faith in God survive this challenging time?
Available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
I received a free copy of this book with no request for anything in return.
