Monday Morning Devo - What Good Am I?

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim Your might to another generation, Your power to all those to come. Psalm 71:18, NKJV

I came face to face with my years this week. The last time I moved (17 years ago, almost, when Jack and I married), I didn't get near so tired at loading and unloading boxes, moving furniture, bending and lifting. Whew. All my life, when I've gotten physically exhausted I've also felt very nauseated and mentally fuzzy. This time sure wasn't any different except it happened a lot quicker.

Talk about feeling useless. When did it get to be so hard? I don't remember growing older, but it sure happened.

So--that was my excuse for not getting blog posts done lately. But more importantly--of what use is one old woman without all the physical and mental capabilities of someone half her age?

There is one thing I can still do. I can still tell you that God is the answer. When I get tired, I call on God. When I don't feel good, I still call on Him. He is still my strength and my song, and He can still be yours too. And you too can still tell people He is the answer.

We can still be of good use to God.

Father, when we feel weak, please be our strength. When we feel like bleah, You can lift us up even then. Please, Lord, let us continue to still be of use to You even as we age. Amen.

  2. I surely do appreciate that, Patti. We had professional movers, but it's still one whale of a lot of work for a little ol' lady....
