Book Review - A MOST PECULIAR CIRCUMSTANCE by Jen Turano (with giveaway)
I gotta tell you folks, this is one of the most delightful romances I've read.
"...she had certainly turned out to be wrong, and for once in her life, being wrong didn't bother her in the slightest."
Miss Arabella Beckett, a most independent woman, most certainly didn't need the help of the insufferably boorish Theodore Wilder, even if her mother had sent him to find her. Not even if he were just the teensiest bit handsome.
He said her family had been worried about her, and her brother wanted her to be at his wedding. Her brother's wedding? Why had he so suddenly decided to marry? He hadn't even been engaged when she left New York just a few months ago.
And she was NOT lost. She fully intended to be exactly where she was. Well, except for the "in jail" part.
Folks, this is a goodie. You could win a copy by commenting on this post by next Wednesday (June 26). US and Canada only, please. Be sure to leave your email--otherwise we have no way to contact you if you win!
Or you could also skip over to a store and buy it. You'd get the copy much quicker that way... Click on Christian Book Distributors, Amazon, or Barnes and Nobel.

I've seen a little about this book already and I was thinking it would be a nice one to read sometime. It just jumped higher on my priority list after reading this blog. I hadn't caught the name of Arabella's romantic interest before. Theodore Wilder, can't get any better than that unless you shorten it to Ted Wilder (my husband's legal name).
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your thoughts Anne. I'm convinced, I have to read it and would love to win a copy.

DeleteThank you for stopping by, Debora:) I absolutely love Theodore - he's actually why I wrote this book and pairing him with Arabella was just too fun. Good luck in the drawing!

Thank you so much, Beth. I love hearing I'm on someone's to-read list:) And, I don't if you're aware of this or not, but if you have an e-reader - I do have a novella out there - Gentleman of Her Dreams - it's short, but a complete story, and best of all it's Free!

I didn't know you were "local!" I live in the Denver metro area, too. Surprise, surprise.
DeleteI love Jen's first novel in this and the novella before it all began was incredibly amusing. I look forward to reading this next book. Wonderful blog. My e-mail is: csaunderson123@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'm completely delighted you've enjoyed my books, Miss C. I must admit, I'd never written a novella before Gentleman of Her Dreams - but it was a hoot to write and...Miss Charlotte, the heroine of that story, shows up again in book four which I'm just about ready to send off to my editor. She's still getting into a bit of trouble...
DeleteHave a great week!

Thanks for stopping by, Connie. And if you don't win, it probably will show up at your library - sometimes my books just take a bit to get to the shelves:)
DeleteWishing you all the best,
~ Jen ~
I was delighted to find this book at my library and even more delighted when I read it! It made me laugh out loud several times (rather unusual for me). I love books with rather quirky characters. Now I need to find the first book in the series and eagerly await the rest. I'm presently reading the novella that goes with this series, Gentleman of Her Dreams. It's fun as well. I've added a Jen Turano page to my binder of favorite authors.
