Book Review--BY THE WATERS OF KADESH by Carole Towriss

By the Waters of Kadesh

By the Waters of Kadesh continues the story begun in Carole Towriss's previous book, In the Shadow of Sinai (to read that review, click HERE). If you read and liked that first in the series, you're going to love this one. I know I did.

Remember Kahmose, Pharaoh's guard who escaped with the Jews from Egypt? In this book, he gets to be the hero. Tirzah, the heroine, is the widow of a man who abused her viciously. The man's brothers, who stand to "inherit" her as a wife, are just as cruel. She can see no hope in her future.

Kahmose is a dedicated soldier who can see no hope in his future either. Most of the Jews eye him with suspicion and disdain. His only friends are Bazalel and Mari. Then he begins to develop a friendship with Karen and Naomi, two little girls, daughters of Tirzah.

One of Tirzah's brothers-in-law is selected with eleven others to spy out the land of Canaan. Kahmose becomes their trainer in the arts of soldiering and spying. Things begin to come to a boil as the twelve go into the land.

But you have to buy the book to find out what happens. Trust me, you won't be sorry! It's available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Also--Carole says she will give a signed book to one commenter on this blog! Be sure to give us your email (so we have a way to contact you) by November 13.

I am anxious to read this next book! I loved Carole's first book and from the looks of this tantalizing description, am sure I will not be disappointed!
