Monday Morning Devo - I Can't Hear You

Mark 1:35 - And in the morning,  rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Have you ever tried to carry on a conversation when the room around you is one huge cacophony? You wind up shouting to be heard and hollering, "Huh?" a lot.

We fill our lives with such busy-ness that it's no wonder we don't often hear the voice of God. He speaks in a whisper, and the world around us is filled with noise and activity.

Is there a place, a time when you can go aside to talk to Him? The Bible says He rose way before dawn to find a quiet place. I know He must have been tired--after all, He lived in a human body, subject to working too long and sleeping too little. But He had a lot to accomplish and only three years to do it in. It took a lot of time with God to make sure He had all the wisdom, insight, and power He needed to carry out each day's work.

Do you have enough of God or could you use a little more? Can you find a few minutes aside to store up what you need for the day?

Lord God, this day, help me to find some time for You. You are my Source, my Life, and my Daily Bread. Thank You. I love You.
