Rapture on May 21

Good morning. By now, most of you have heard the pronouncement that the Rapture is scheduled for May 21 at approximately 6 pm.

I wonder--are the pastors proclaiming this event still preparing for a sermon on Sunday? I mean, as a just-in-case preparation?

The Bible does say that no one knows the day or the hour. Read all of Matthew Chapter 24. The specific verse is in verse 36, but I don't like taking scripture out of context. So, form your own opinion after reading the whole thing. All I can say is, "Even so, Lord, come quickly." I think I'm ready.

I think I'm ready? Where did that come from? I know Jesus loves even me, I know He died for even me. But are all my lamps filled with oil, or are a few of them bordering on empty? Are yours? Hurry, there are only two shopping days left!

If this sounds like I'm making fun of the pronosticators, please forgive me. Just because God didn't personally inform me doesn't mean it isn't so. And if you are making fun of them, shame on you. We don't have the right to be the judges, only God does. We are expected to be careful of the wolves, though.

Do I think this event will really happen this weekend? No, I don't. From the bottom of my heart, I wish it were so. I base my opinion strictly on Matthew 24:36, not on my own holiness or intimacy with God that He would keep me informed of all His plans. We are supposed to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves. We should choose wisely who we follow, who we believe. Yet, occasionally, under the right circumstances, any one of us can be fooled. It rends my heart to know this, but it's true.

So--what do we do when we realize we've been tricked by the enemy? Push him away, ask God for forgiveness, and go on. "Rejoice not against me, o my enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me" (Micah 7:8). Get yourself back on the path with Jesus, and walk on.

"Brush yourself off, pick yourself up, and start all over again."

I felt for them the moment I heard, because I truly believe we won't know the hour or day just as the Bible says. So many of them gave their entire life's possessions to promote this. Now they are starting over from scratch. I think it is so sad.

I agree, Jennifer. It's soooo easy to get carried away with what we want so much to happen.
