SF Bay Area American Christian Fiction Writers

Saturday, November 20, 2010, 10:00 – 12:00
Palo Alto Church of Christ
3373 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA 94306

John Olson will be our featured speaker.
Christy Award winner John Olson writes stirring and dramatic novels, ranging from his latest paranormal spiritual thrillers Powers and highly acclaimed Shade to his science fiction action adventures Oxygen and Fifth Man. Tosca Lee, author of Demon:A Memoir and Havah writes, “I got goose bumps…The kind of scary that you crave and cringe at…Thanks a lot, John Olson--because of you, I will not walk alone at night for a long time to come." For more information, see his website: www.litany.com

John earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and did postdoctoral research at the University of California at San Francisco. After eight years as a director and principal scientist at a major scientific software company, John has quit his day job to devote himself full-time to a ministry of writing and speaking. He lives in San Leandro with his wife, Amy, and their two children.

The award-winning novelist will speak on “Writing Like an Entrepreneur.” John will teach new creative processes and new ways of thinking in order to thrive in this rapidly changing world of publishing. With book store closures, e-books, POD, web-based marketing, etc. the publishing industry is in the midst of a massive revolution. All the rules are changing. When the dust finally settles, only the novelists who have learned how to write and market their books like entrepreneurs will be left standing.

ACFW members and any guests are welcome to attend this informative and interesting event ($5 for ACFW members and $10 for non-members).

ACFW authors may bring copies of their books for sale. Authors will be responsible for handling their own sales.

Come and join the fun! Please RSVP by November 18th to one of the following people:
